It's All About My Story
I Have Always Been Passionate About Being Organized.
From the age of 12 I can remember always wanting to clean my mams house and make sure everything had a place! While on my summer holidays from school while my mam was at work, I would have a daily cleaning routine. I always got great satisfaction after I had done all the cleaning and loved to see my mam come in from work delighted that she had less things to do in the house after a hard day’s work.
When I was 16 my mam was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She was only 49 at the time. Her mobility slowed down a lot. I had my first daughter while living at home with my parents. I tried to relieve the pressure by lending a helping hand. Routine was key with a toddler trying to maintain the cleaning, organising, and keeping on top of the clutter. This never seemed a chore to me in fact I loved organisation. I would feel stressed if I were not organised.
My mam passed away at the age of 59 and it made me rethink my own life. I decided to set up my own cleaning business in 2004. I loved it. My own hours, My own boss, Flexibility… Yes, this was heaven! It was hard work but so rewarding for me. I got to meet some great people who now are incredibly good friends. I got to Rearrange things and help them declutter their homes. Also cleaned solicitors’ offices & doctors’ surgeries. No job was too small, and I loved seeing the different styles in all the homes and offices I worked in.
I worked in quite varied roles through the years from McDonalds Restaurant to Credit Control in the Insurance Industry, Banking/ Mortgage Brokering, Legal Accounts software trainer. I enjoyed filing which is most unusual as that is the job people hate. I loved meeting people but always felt there was something missing.
In between all of that (now the mother of three!) I was forever changing the décor in my home. Moving furniture. My kids used to say were the elves here last night or was it you again mam. Always thinking of my next DIY project… Watching every makeover and home organising programmes that was on the telly. The actual excitement in picking colours and planning a room… They know me personally in the local paint shop!!
So, on that note I decided to enrol myself in an Interior Design Course… Best decision ever and I enjoyed every minute of it. I changed the décor in my home again just because it was part of my training for my course (Joking, Any excuse)
I thought to myself I love to declutter and while on lockdown I enrolled in a decluttering course, organising your life, home & Office.
While doing the last course I thought I m going to combine both my courses and set a declutter/styling business.
I have been a stay-at-home parent since having my last child who is now two and a half. Its time for me to get back out doing what I love. Of course, I would decide to set up in the middle of a pandemic but hey I love a challenge.
So, bring it on folks…
